Jewelry Making Holistic Program

This program is focused on helping the apprentice develop the different jewelry techniques through individual projects according to their skills and level of knowledge.

It lasts 8 months, a total of 32 sessions of 4 hours each, for a total of 128 hours of learning.

The program is directed by Elisa Garza; master jeweler, main designer and Founder of Ikcha Jewelry.

She studied Industrial Design at the UdeM and specialized in Goldsmithing in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Currently, her main activity is the creation of new designs and the manufacture of jewelry for Ikcha. Still, thanks to her passion for education, she spends her Saturday mornings sharing her passion for jewelry with a few apprentices each year.


Basic Jewelry Techniques

You will learn the use of the tools of the goldsmith profession, safety measures in the workshop and you will develop basic construction techniques.

Welding and Finishes

You will learn about the different types of welding, you will know several ways to give textures and the use of patinas to give different finishes to your designs.

Beginner Assembly

You will learn to work with cabochon-type stones and secure them in your designs with the Bevel and/or Half Bevel setting to make a ring or pendant.

Intermediate Assemblies

You will learn more complex bevel settings for stones with edges and faceted stones with butt. In addition to the gypsy-like setup.

Classic Assemblies

You will learn more complex settings used in classic jewelry, for round cut stones, such as the crown setting, basket setting and intercalated nozzle.

Lost Wax I (Modeling)

You will learn to work the ancient Lost Wax technique, which allows us to make jewelry from carving and modeling in specialized waxes.

Lost Wax II (Empty)

In this 2nd part, we will delve into the most critical stage of the process of making jewelry with the Lost Wax Technique, which is the Casting process.

Alternative Techniques

You will have the opportunity to experiment with various casting techniques, such as in sand, alijinato and incorporation of elements of nature.


Registration for the program includes the basic material that the apprentice uses to work, such as: waxes, investment, grams of silver or stones. With which you will be able to make several pieces of silver jewelry (approximately 7 pieces or more with different techniques throughout the program).

You will also have access to manuals of techniques, use of tools in the workshop and equipment of security.

Students will also enjoy a Make-up Class every two months in case they have missed any of their lessons.

These classes will be held on Saturday afternoons from 3pm to 7pm and are subject to availability.
