There are endless options of all colors in the world of precious stones. This table will give you an idea of some stones that we can use for each color, although of course ... there are many more in nature! During the process of customizing a ring, we will give you our stone recommendations according to what you tell us about your partner, but we can give you a little guide of what to consider when choosing a stone.
Colored stones can vary in price for the same reasons as diamonds. It is important to consider that there are beautiful stones of accessible costs that can be seen impressive, since their low cost per carat will allow you to buy something bigger; and there are more expensive stones that, although beautiful, should be small if you want to fit a budget. We will leave you a table of some stones so you can see which are the most accessible, the most expensive, and which have a very large range of play.
The good news is that there is a stone for everyone! In the following table you will see some options and in what price range they move.
Does your partner want to use his ring daily?, or are they the ones who only want to use it on special occasions? Do you work a lot with your hands, or do you have a desk job? How careful is it? The longer you use the ring and the more you use your hands, the stone should be more resistant. We recommend you choose stones with hardness from 7 onwards on the Mohs scale. This scale names the stones by hardness from 1 to 10, 1 being the softest (natural talc) and 10 being the hardest; the diamond. From 7 the stones are already resistant for daily use: quartz and its varieties, spinels, morganites, aquamarines, sapphires, diamonds of all colors. Remember that the hardness and scale of Mohs refer only to how easy or difficult it is to scratch a stone, so although the diamond is almost impossible to scratch, it is possible to break (in fact, the sapphire is more resistant to hits).
What makes you feel
Actually, maybe it's the most important ... what do you want to communicate with this stone? What does your partner like to carry everyday? What emotions will it represent? The world of stones is full of myths and legends, and people continue to create new and personal stories by acquiring them for a jewel as special as an engagement ring. From simply choosing it to be the favorite color of your partner, even because that color has some special symbolism. The possibilities to represent your story are endless!
